Benefits of Infant / Toddler Car Seats when Flying with Kids

When a toddler gets bored during flight, it is common for him to wiggle around or try to leave his seat.  Airplane seatbelts are very easy for toddlers to unfasten.  With small children, it can sometimes become difficult for a parent to control this behavior.

It can become a safety issue if a child refuses to remain buckled and in his seat during take off or landing.

An excellent method of controlling this behavior is to use infant or toddler car child safety seats.  The child gets a seat that is a better fit, providing more comfort for the child…while the parents get a very effective form of restraint for moments when their child gets the wiggles at a time that is not appropriate to allow movement in the cabin of the plane.

Infant/toddler car seats also provide more safety for children during flight.  The FAA recommends use of child safety seats on airplanes, providing they meet guidelines for use on aircraft.  See the FAA web site for more information.
