About Us

FlyingRugrats.com is dedicated to providing free tips, tricks and educational information about traveling on airplanes with small children, specifically infants and toddlers.  The site was founded by a husband and father of two living in Texas.

The founder and his wife were both full time professionals who, prior to children, traveled by plane frequently for work and pleasure.  After having their first child, they were faced with added pressures related to how they could continue their traveling lifestyle with the new addition to their family.  When their second child came along, the complexities of traveling just multiplied.

Flying with kids is not always easy.  However, early on, they decided that they would make is work and did not let having children stand in the way of traveling for work or vacations.  By the age of 1, their first child had traveled to California many times, to other U.S. destinations, to Australia, to London, and to The Netherlands.  By the age of 3 years old, their first child had traveled extensively, having traveled by plane practically every month accompanying a parent on a business trip and going on several vacations, which included multiple trips to far off destinations such as Australia to visit grandparents and other family members down under.

By the age of 4, their first child was clearly a world traveler and had a younger sibling who had also become a frequent flyer in his own right.  Over the years, they gradually obtained a great deal of experience traveling and flying on airplanes with small children.

After flights, family and friends frequently asked questions about how the children coped on the airplanes.  FlyingRugrats.com came about from a desire to find a way to more broadly share experiences, family travel information and tips for success when flying with children.  The idea is that, by doing so, other families might gain benefit from parents that have already flown extensively with children and have learned from their experiences, discovering ways to compensate for the difficulties that are involved.

So there you have it.  FlyingRugrats.com is your parent-to-parent informational source about flying with children and preparing for success when doing so.

The FlyingRugrats.com
 Flying Kids Mission

As parents, we are responsible for molding our precious babies into well rounded adults who have an appreciation for the variety of opportunities that they have available to them as they grow and develop as individuals.  Exposing children to varying geographical locations and cultures around the world is an important teaching method that many parents have the option to use for developing generations of culturally aware future leaders who have childhood experiences that help them understand and personally relate to global issues.  It is the mission of Flying Rugrats to arm parents with information about flying with children, toddlers or infants strategies in an effort to dispel fear or apprehension about family travel so that families may travel freely and better educate our future world citizens through positive travel experiences.
